i miss having cable. it was overpriced, sure, but the one stop shop was great....

i'm not sure how best to replace it now. the things i miss most are pro hoop, turner classic movies, some footie and horse racing and a couple other movie channels.

pro hoop is easy, since nba league pass is great and reasonably priced. i know they always have n xmas sale, so i'll wait for that.

for movies i guess i need filmstruck, the new turner classic/criterion streaming site. i mite also do shudder, since i'm a horror fan. i like tv fine and would watch the occasional series hbo/pbs/sundance/etc when i had everything, but now that netflix doesn't give a rat's ass about movies i don't know if i need that.

soccer i'm not sure what to do. i loved having beinsports, fox and nbcsn. nbcsn was great for premier league and the very occasional big horse race, but with no olympics for awhile i don't care about any of their other content. beinsports isn't great, but having serie a + la liga and african qualifiers was sometimes useful. i may have to just go with fox spor have much less choicets go for the world cup and champions league stuff and forget everything else. i don't want to try to pay for all that stuff.

chances are there's a horse racing network that'll work. overall though, i really feel like i'm going to end up paying near as much for all this streaming stuff and will have much less choice. this is not the future i was promised.
