did I ever tell you about my friend's son's stepfather refusing to help him pay for school (the stepfather is a multimillionaire)?

another friend and I were talking about this, and I was like "what kind of asshole won'r help his own stepson? even give him a low-interest loan? what the hell is wrong with matt??"
any my friend was like, "he won't give or loan braydon money because braydon is gay."
I was floored because I didn't even consider that because I didn't honestly believe that people were still like that.
people are still like that.
(note that the stepfather is loaded because he sued the university where his father used to work over sexual abuse allegations against his father. you might think he'd be more sensitive. no. he is a dishonest, homophobic asshole.)
