The best diving I did there that's accessible from the main island was up in the Yasawa islands. Little chain NW of Nadi.

Fast ferries go up there, and generally the further you go the nicer it gets. The island where they filmed the blue lagoon is particularly nice. The one from Cast Away is up there too, but I didn't spend much time there. Couldn't say much about specifics, it's been like 12 years.
