Election rhetoric bullshit. But the more attention we bring to it the more he's likely to lash out and do something stupid just to prove his detractors wrong. I think Obama played him just right. Treat him with respect and praise him and he will like you and listen to you. Criticize him and he'll act out of spite like a 6 year old. He may be able to be managed to within normalcy (though he'll still suck). But virulent opposition may push him to craziness
