iirc, they changed the law about 20 years ago, now if you marry an illegal they are still illegal, they would have to self deport and then apply to

to re-enter as a spouse. otherwise if they are caught they could be detained, held in some hellish GEOS for profit prison for 18m 2 years of hearings.
deported with a 10 year hold before they can apply to come back.
I used to do occassional weddings at the INS lockup (till some lawyer that facilitating one figured out hey he could get ordained and cut out the outside vendor and keep another fee)
