RIght. Let's not focus on people who are particularly disadvantaged and make sure the people who aren't similarly disadvantaged are properly attended

to. This is my overall problem with the post-election analysis. Yes, the white rural voters won this election because they refused to recognize reality, don't care about racism or people worse off than themselves and felt someone cared regardless of how he treated everyone else and what his actual policies would do for them. On the one hand, I get it. There needs to be a way to reach them in order to win elections. They also have some legitimate concerns. But when reality on issues doesn't match up to their feelings, how do you bridge that gap? The narrative does not seem to be that they should learn reality, it seems to be that the democrats need to cater to their hurt feelings. I can't fathom how that is the right answer in part because it necessarily would mean ignoring the issues of people with factually legitimate issues.
