Traveling in Europe has made me question some universal truths about light switches.

Why is "up" the "on" position for a light switch? There's nothing that says "up = on" other than habit.

Why are light switches to a room IN the room? Wouldn't you like to turn on the light BEFORE you enter the room?

I know... mind blown, right?
