Not only did the GOP leadership in Congress drop the pretense of limited spending, they also dropped any pretense of accounting for spending.


Prescription drug plan revenue and expenditure forecasts? Don't need 'em. The pharmaceutical market will even out.

Projected cost of OEF/OIF (the wars in the Iraq and Afghanistan)? Classify it as an emergency spending bill year after year after year so the costs don't need to be accounted for in budget legislation or appropriations.
