So - had my very first experience of fearing the water. Went out on the GB Reef for 3 scheduled dives on the 17th - got into the water - massive

anxiety attack - couldn't breathe - wound up missing out on seeing it from 40-60 feet down.
John went - no troubles for him - he was a rescue diver in the Navy for 7 years and was used to rough chop open water ... and it was super windy. Our boat broke down on the way back in and took an extra 2 hours to get back - tossing us about in big waves the whole time.
I had an opportunity to go out to a platform location the yesterday and go on a submersible, but it was still windy & rough and I was pretty bummed/depressed - so I skipped it.
Found out this morning a guy died and the police were on the site and people out at the platform were delayed getting back by several hours ... so probably wouldn't have been a good day to try it again for me.
I'll have more chances in Fiji - and two ladies that were on our shuttle bus said Fiji was better colors and better diving for them than what the 3 dive sites we visited on GB reef Agincourt that day - and John's pics did seem a bit murky - perhaps the wind stirred the reef up a bit?
At any rate ... feeling the need to cheer myself up - arrived last evening in Sydney and have booked myself for an hour at 9 a.m. for what I'm calling my "cat therapy Sunday morning Church" - yep - I'm going to the Catmosphere!!!
Also seeing a Beethoven performance by a Quartet at 2 pm at the Opera House today.
Hoping I can put my disappointment behind me ... wish me luck!
