I don't know that she ever revealed anything about the future to Ian.... ?

In any case, as a scientist, I think Ian would want to know everything.

She kinda has no choice but to take that path, IMO. Once we know there are so many possibilities with this new ability she learns, the possibility of saving her daughter is the big one that's in front of her now.
