as to how they've survived? Ditto for Alexandra actually. If you have groups like the Saviors and the Governor's group I'd figure the Hilltop would get taken over pretty quickly. They may get away with the lack of explanation due to it still being relatively early in the Zombie Apocalypse. Using Judith's age as a reference...but they need to throw in a line or two regarding this.
