I think that's driven in part by the fact that those are the things closest to home that are most at risk. Trump's economic plans have elements that

are consistent and inconsistent with both parties. I think that people feel like there may be upside and downsides but the country as a whole will live through it without huge problems. Foreign policy is, well, foreign. Both sides of the aisle are closer to aligned on that (and at odds with Trump on a lot). The party differences are meaningful on close examination, but while Trump is a huge wild card, people will muddle through unless Trump blows up the world. The one that hits most at home are the personal rights of people (whether directly affected or having friends or family affected). It is the most immediate thing that seems most at risk to people who vote democratic. So I think it's way more about circumstances than overall party view.
