You realize this has no connection to the original material, yes? And that's my main complaint.

Dirk Gently isn't "magic", he's just a moron who keeps stumbling into the truth. There isn't secret government programs or other psychics or sidekicks and, as far as I can recall, even a single death! Not, like in the show, 3 or 4 deaths PER EPISODE.
Could I stand for another well done dark drama on cable? Sure, who wouldn't? But you might as well call it Teletubbies, it's about as related to the original material as Dirk Gently.
