the newspaper part always feels like a kind of bribery to me, fair or not. I used to always leave something in my mailbox for the mail person (homemade cookies and/or a modest gc with a ty note), but she had enough mistakes or other issues (like inexplicably not delivering things in a timely manner) in the last couple of years that I just didn't want to.
