It's really good if you live in a place with a lot of stops like NYC or Toronto. For others, it's a downgrade.

I just checked when Andie mentioned it. Before, I could look at the sightings and there would usually be at least 4 things, often times my sightings would be full. If I saw something I wanted to catch I could walk to one of the places near me where I knew things spawned. When I just checked I had 3 things showing up. An Oddish, a Weedle, and a Pidgey. All at the only stop within range. It is also one that is likely impossible to walk to before anything there despawns (there is a run between here and there). It would be fine if they went with one version they briefly had which had both nearby and sightings, but they ditched that for some reason.
Also, even in an area with a lot of stops, you can miss things. You could miss out on something you would want like a Lapras or Dragonite because it is just too far from a stop.

If you click on the sighting circle, a picture with the Pokémon comes up, then, if you click on the feet under the Pokémon, it basically shows you

That sucks! I'm reading similar things from other players outside of cities many stops.

yah, it gives stops that are pretty far away here. it's better than nothing, though, which is pretty much what that section has been for me for most
