It's done essentially to opposite for me.

All I can see on my tracker now are things I can't get. So there's no use in turning the app on at home. You hit a certain speed and you see nothing and you can't spin stops. So there's no use turning it on while a passenger in a car. So being in a city or other area with a lot of stops or specifically searching out nests.

You also lose the fun of taking a detour when you are on your way somewhere and notice a Snorlax on your sightings while stopped at a red light.
