So I just upgraded ram and my hd to an ssd in a laptop, wanting to make it faster

put everything back together and nothing...not even a light when you push the power button.

A two week old laptop...what are the chances its just something simple? I could see it not booting up properly if one of the new components were bad but to not even power on...?

Try putting the old ram back and leaving the ssd in there, laptops can be finicky about ram -- nm - budice Dec 1, 07:39 2

That usually means a power supply issue - could some of the connectors be loose? It might be detecting a dangerous situation & trying to be safe. -- nm - Beryllium Dec 1, 07:35 3
- removed the back again, the only two connections i had off went to the mb from the ssd and another for what looks like a smaller board for just a usb - J Dec 1, 07:40 2
