Interesting things I learned yesterday - -- (edited)

There's a 1 ounce limit in Colorado dispensaries, whether weed or edibles.

Cash only. ATM's in dispensaries (at least the one I was in) limit withdrawals so you don't get enough to buy more than an ounce.

If you go in with a friend each person can get up to the limit, even if only one person is paying (so that person must already have the cash available). But each person will walk out with his/her own bag(s). Ours have a pot leaf on them.

Weed is cheaper than edibles. There were two "bottom shelf" items for $85/oz., while 10g of edible went typically for $20-25. 100g = 1 oz.

The variety was incredible. The purveyor talked a language I'd never heard before. (I told him that back in the day when I smoked I just called up my guy, got a price, and arranged a meeting place.) He was very patient and explained differences in the edible items.

Since I gave up smoking many years ago and now have chronic bronchitis I chose to go with a variety of edibles. He told me I would probably be the first person in KY to have some of a new line of Jimi Hendrix cookies & chocolates - they just came out last week in CO. The cookie is a smore and is indica, the chocolate is sativa.

The number of dispensaries has doubled in Central City since my last visit. These are very small towns so obviously the gamblers are partaking. As we approached our hotel room yesterday a couple exited their room and they reeked.

Back in May when we visited Central City (to visit the casinos here and in Black Hawk) we bought some brownies. They're sitting in the freezer, unopened. Who knows when I'll partake of the new purchases.

And, if you're wondering, I drove here.
