I think parents are more awed/shocked/traumatized by the Cars 3 teaser than children.

Children who saw Cars in theaters or home video are 10 years older now and largely "over it". Lightning McQueen getting smashed up? Meh. But for parents, 10 years passes in a blink of an eye. They feel trauma on behalf of their children (even though it's not there) and are also linked to the source material themselves due to repeated viewings.
