On the plus(?) side, she does it to everyone eventually, so at least I've come to realize it wasn't just me.

She had a falling out with one of my predecessors that resulted in the person, Ann, going to work for someone else within the firm.
Ann did really well under the new partner and he recommended her for promotion. She felt like this would make her look bad somehow (because she had told everyone that Ann wasn't any good) so she started calling around other partners in the firm to try to get Ann's promotion blocked. This was like 3 years after Ann worked for her.
Janice is a terrible person.
