Allard was the best high school pitcher in last year's draft by a fairly decent amount, but he hurt his back about two months before the draft.

And to be clear, what I'm saying is that you probably get a player like Folty or Wisler for your rotation right now in addition to these other parts. Both of them have had the regular ups and downs of young MLB pitchers.

The only area where I disagree is on Newcomb. The reason the Braves might trade him is that he's almost ready now, but they are weighing their options about whether they'd rather have him or deal him for a known commodity. I worry about his walks, but Newcomb's given up 226 hits in 290 minor league innings, with 338 strikeouts. He looks like a stud. There aren't a lot of SP prospects with a 1.5 strikeouts to hits allowed ratio.
