I tend to agree with this, and I'm actually pleased that it looks like the democrats seem to be taking this approach in planning for Trump. There are

things they may be able to accomplish with Trump that they couldn't get done over Republican opposition before. Fight the battles where they need to be fought, but, unlike the republicans for the last 8 years, don't fight the fight just to oppose everything. In the end it may oddly make Trump a viable president for getting some things done (though it doesn't make his racism, sexism, xenophobia and totalitarian bent any more palatable).
