What baffles me here, if those turn out to be results: What's so bad about a no vote? And Renzi does not *have* to resign.

as i understand it, it's mainly because groups like the five star movement and lega nord who are hugely anti-eu back the no vote.....

Yeah, and people are worried "what happens if we vote yes and someone like Beppe Grillo gets in?". Especially after the Brexit and Trump votes -- nm

Knowing next to nothing about this, I read it as "give me more power, reduce checks/balances". I would vote no on that!

Italy has a weird system. Both senate and the other house (chamber of deputies?) have exactly the same powers.
