The cost of operating those older aircraft just isn't worth it anymore. They are disappearing at a fast pace. (I haven't checked, but based on the age, I'm sure AF1 is 747-400)

I expect 747 production overall to shut down soon so it's now or never to have the Queen of the Skies continue as AF1
