Higher prices is absolutely the tradeoff for keeping manufacturing here. That's the part people don't like to talk about. And automation is the

present and future. It is a massive conundrum that we are essentially going to automate ourselves out of jobs. Economics requires it, but the societal cost is just now starting to be considered. It's why we have to continue the switch to more of a service based economy, but people don't want to hear that and neither side is willing to acknowledge or deal with it in a meaningful way.
