after my month long travel, I've realized I need to up my game for baggage - am interested in what everyone uses for both short and long trips - I'd love to find a bag that can carry lots compacted where I could avoid checked baggage - but not struggle to get it to fit in the overhead compartment of the smaller aircraft

I switched to a Jeep brand hard shell that fits in overhead as I was tired of stuff getting smashed.
