I didn't see it coming either. Particularly because of the "nothing bad ever happens on Christmas Eve" theme. I hope he makes it. It seems a bit too manipulative if he doesn't. But I am still amazed by how good the show is overall and it's ability to still do some surprising things. I remember watching the commercials before the season started and I had no idea what it was and thought it looked completely uninteresting. Way, way better than I expected.
