groiny from Bwhatever, more info than you ever wanted on what I meant by secure inventory

some stuff (pharmaceuticals, jewelry, guns) arrive special delivery and very specific people check that in and handle them
but 99% of all the crap there arrives via semi-trailers and are unloaded by a crew onto pallets and carts for each department
a few items that get locked up later like TVs are too freaking big for one person to steal and so they stay out on a pallet (there have been TV thefts but that requires an organized ring of several people to get away with it and they always get caught in the long run)
but certain items either small and high dollar like laptops and iphones, or with legal ramifications (ammunition) come in on the semis but are handled by only one person who is double checked by a manager. He has a master list of the items to look out for on the truck, and if he doesn't find them all they drop everything and search for them. The stuff is then put in a rolling locker and taken to the various secure locations where it is sold on the floor.
I've never seen a toy in that locker until these Hatchimals.
