The big difference is that Orton throws fewer INTs.

And the Lions only have 1 INT on the season, and have allowed twice the passing TDs that the Vikings have allowed.
The lions allow about 40 ypg more, and about 2 ypa more than the Vikings. And though there are issues with the QB rating system, the Lions give up a QB rating 30 points higher than the Vikings.
Orton is the call there, unless Detroit has made a very quick turnaround.
