The character as has been written would have never been able to achieve the physicality needed to hang with Sarah and Casey - no matter how much he trained. And I think they would like to keep the 3 of them together on missions as much as possible. And don't forget - it's "Chuck". They'll devise reasons for his new skills to fail him at the worst times possible and he'll have to save himself using his head - as per usual.
