awards in general are the worst. but at least the hfpa spends a lot of money on film preservation and such...

they's contributed to restoring like over 80 films in the last 15 years or so. they awarded $500k for the restoration of the Egyptian Theater this year, too. (tho i'd still never watch their awards show)
