broken foot and messed up ankle. Look for Nathan Chen, Jason Brown and Max Aaron to make some noise and compete for the title.
Challenger Polina Edmonds had to withdraw from the Ladies' side of the event due to continued problems with a bone bruise in her foot. Familiar names Ashley Wagner and Gracie Gold should do well as should Courtney Hicks and Mariah Bell.
The Ice Dance will be the best competition this weekend as the US has the best group of Ice Dance teams in the world. It's truly a Golden Age. Barring a fall or a twizzle disaster, we should see the Shibutani siblings, Chock & Bates and Hubbell & Donahue fighting it out for the podium.
The Pairs teams are all somewhat tragic but someone's has to win so let's hope everyone just skates their best.
KC has one of the best downtown areas in the US. I hope it provides all the competitors and their teams a fun, cool atmosphere and that a great event is held there.
