I agree with his take on McCain and even Romney but part company with him on Dubya.

Dubya made it Ok to sort of be dumb ("look at the team of smart people around him!"). That lowered the bar so Trump could get under it.
Dubya cemented the gains of Reagan in an evolutionary way. I think Romney and McCain might have done the same damage but to a lesser extent.
I agree entirely that Trump is an entirely different situation. We're in a very strange period now. I'm afraid of the next 2.5 years (then everyone starts campaigning again) and really afraid of what the Trump precedent sets up next. For Trump I blame Reagan and Dubya.
