for the city I'm talking about had a modest raise recentishly but more are ahead in the next few years. I wonder how far the restaurant will go with

the fee. yah, I think you're right about the statement.
the city has some of the most expensive places to live in the area - actually beyond that, because our area is so generally high for u.s. rankings. people will pay the higher prices if they go up - while highish, it's not kwame level at all (we can still have business meals there, and we have to watch out for those); and there are loads of rich people and business meals in the mix for them.
