She's used her money to push for vouchers and charter schools in Michigan over existing public schools. Public funding really shouldn't be used to pay for private, Christian education. Why would you think she'd change that stance as Secretary of Education?
Also, with the Mother Jones article, I think they were showing how giving to charter and private schools added to the fact that she publicly and politically supports vouchers and charters schools. There was an assumption in that chart that the reader knew a little bit of background information on her.
