I haven't yet watched any of this season of NG, but I'd say it has made me actually laugh out loud more. TGP is

more like the shows Andie mentions below, and not as simple (not said as a bad thing) as NG. both can be clever, but they're not 1:1 comparable.
(I've shared before that I'm fairly easily amused by entertainment, but getting me to laugh out loud is rarer.)
