Actually, it was 538 that kept me from hopping competely onboard the "Hilary's got this" train.

My (semi-exaggerated) point was that immediately pre-election you'd be hard pressed to find many media outlets that gave Trump much if any of a chance at winning. Whether they were overenthusiastically interpreting the data or not, the presentation was Trump had a very slim path to victory. In this case, 538 was an outlier.

Ergo, it strengthens the "you can't trust the media" argument. (From the Trump supporter perspective.)
