Here's an amusing anecdote from trivia night yesterday.

The emcee was in the process of revealing the answers for a round dedicated to authors of books with birds in the title. When he reached "Mockingjay", he revealed the answer to be Stephenie Meyer.

The whole room exploded into table-flipping rage... or the trivia nerd equivalent, which is basically loud and obnoxious, pedantic correction. And it was almost literally the whole room, all 55 tables. The emcee was clearly taken aback. He didn't write the questions or provide the answers; he was just there for his sparkling personality. The organizers of the event quickly performed a google search and corrected the answer to Suzanne Collins which pacified the crowd and kept them from burning the place to the ground.

Good times. Good times.
