We were trying to figure out why someone would suddenly need a blood transfusion out at sea. I was thinking accident maybe? A sever injury with blood loss?

Blood transfusion could be for lots of reasons. Accident, yes. But also things like severe infections can do it, bleeding ulcer, etc. -- nm - Andie Feb 1, 08:09 4
