Last year, I was asked to monitor the ice fishing section by the store manager to see if we made any money on it. We didn't because there wasn't

enough ice. It had been that way ever since I started selling sporting goods. We'd bring in ice fishing gear, sell about 20 to 35 percent of it, and then have to sell the rest at clearance and lose money on the deal.
So I told him that we didn't make any money on ice fishing. We cancelled the ice fishing section for this year.
And of course, it got so cold that people could drive their trucks on the reservoir. And some folks are mad that we aren't selling ice fishing gear.
