My suggestion for shortening baseball games.

How do you win a baseball game? Record 27 outs on defense with the lead. Why does the home team not always bat in the bottom of the 9th? Because they have already recorded 27 outs with the lead. My idea just extends this logic to the entire game.
Therefore, if you have the lead you should be able to defer your half of the inning and just keep pitching to the team that is trailing. Every 3rd out you clear the bases and start the next half inning but there is no time wasted changing sides.
If the trailing team ties or takes the lead then, after the batting team records their 3rd out of their half inning you change sides so once again the trailing team is batting.
Example: Phillies are the home team, Mets are visiting.
TOP1: Mets score 1 run (1-0)
BOT1: Phillies do not score (1-0)
BOT2: Phillies do not score (1-0)
BOT3: Phillies score 3 (3-1)
TOP2: Mets do not score (3-1)
TOP3 through TOP9: Mets do not score
Phillies win 3-1.
