or holes to allow wood beams, posts, etc. to sit on them with the blocks sitting on the ground or prepared area (gravel pad in place or former sod).
Placing the structure above grade on the blocks will make it wobbly, so you need to anchor to the blocks. The ground is also uneven so you likely will need something to adjust the block heights so the structure stays level.
