Finally saw La La Land. B-ish. It was fine, but not really memorable. (spoils)

I'm still confused why Sebastian and Mia had to break up.
If it was because of what Sebastian said that Mia would have to be 100% committed to being a star, why couldn't he go with her to Paris like in the dream sequence?
If she had to commit 100% to being a star, how did she have time to get married and be a mom? If she could do both, why not do both with Sebastian?
If she had to commit to being a movie star, that would mean a lot of LA shoots. Conveniently, his club would be in LA. I don't really get why they needed to break up.
