looking at it now, it seems at least like a good short term deal for the raptors....

it clearly makes them better this year, assuming all the pieces fall in place. but does it make them better than cleveland or golden state? that seems doubtful.
but it's a gutsy move, and i'm not one to question masai ujuri's bona fides as a gm.
but dang, they are gonna have some decisions to make in the offseason with kyle lowry as a free agent and ibaka as a guy with bird rights (which gives toronto value, but are they going to want to pony up? it's gonna cost 'em). they're already paying derozan, valanciunas and carroll.
ross is no great loss as powell is an ok sub (esp. on cost) and the pick is fine since they have two.
mostly whether this is good will depend on how much they're going to be willing to spend in the summer. but to ujiri's credit, it gives them a better chance of not bombing out of the playoffs early again, which i imagine was a big motivation here.
