i read the passage years ago (ca. 2010), and loved it. just requested the 2nd one (the twelve) from the library and kept it three weeks and allllllmost returned it unread because, y'know, it's 550 pages.

but then i felt bad, because i know interlibrary loan costs money so i renewed it and read the beginning and holy crap the next thing you know i'm like 100 pages in. i think i'm maybe gonna burn right thru it and read the third one. the guy can really write.

i also hear this is maybe an upcoming tv series written by liz heldens (i guess she wrote like 20+ eps of friday night lights, i dunno, people seem to like that but i never watched it, sorry david) and produced by matt reeves, whose genre bona fides are solid--i really liked cloverfied (and he exec. produced 10 cloverfield, which was fine), the american let the right one in remake *and* dawn of the planet of the apes

i think i'm sold.
