I assumed that Rachel would be going home during that episode as the only reason they would later that evening announce her as the bachelorette.
What possible purpose does announcing her serve? To get people talking about the current show? It undercuts some of it's own drama because even though there are 4 left, we as an audience know we can completely discount one of them.
I don't really get it. A whole season of Paradise will air before her season even starts to get promoted.
So why now? To make sure she is committed and doesn't head off to do something else? Does it have to do with disclosure stuff they sign? So weird to me.
