You're probably right about that. Arbitration is an ugly process that never ends well even if the player wins due to what's said in the meeting. But

there was no reason to go after him and his agents to the press like that. I'm guessing others knew he was going to say something but I wonder if Hal or Cashman knew. If they did then fuck them too! This looks terrible, is terrible and as I mentioned previously looks bad in the eyes of the kids that have multiple years of arbitration and free agency ahead of them.
