oh, for Diva - Sousatzka review..

i have to admit, i was a little underwhelmed. Now, we saw the final dress rehearsal on Friday and it officially opened on Saturday. Plus, it's playing here for final polishing before Broadway. However, all that said, I felt it lacked some oomph. And there was no really show-stopping tune that you leave humming. It had a wide range of music, as the story dictated. And when the scene involved the South African immigrants singing traditional music, it was pretty good. But the English/Polish/etc characters never really got any exciting songs to perform.

So, all in all, it was certainly *fine*, but it wasn't an exciting piece of theatre to me.
