Why is it so hard to believe that one form might be better than others?

I'm not sure where I fall on the Arkansas ban, but I agree with Will that almost every study on the issue suggests that children of two married parents tend to have much more success in life than those that do not.
Doesn't mean that it is impossible for single-parent children to grow up into adjusted, well-rounded people, but those situations shouldn't set public policy any more than individual cases on the other side should either.
This is a public socialogy issue and maybe it's important to take the wider view on it.
