I'm a sucker for most CGI fests but they could have cut out a few sequences.

the bit with the spiders for example. I liked it well enough but it was fairly forgettable I thought.
I liked this version of Kong more than Jackson's but that may also have something to do with the castings. If you Jack Black in something, you better have one great movie around him because I'm going to spend 2hrs burning holes into the screen every time he shows up.
This version is interesting in a couple of ways because it plays visually more faithful to the very first version with the look of Kong and a few other spoilerish things.
